UCLA
Center for Healthier Children, Families and Communities
As a newly created health care facility, the UCLA Center for
Healthier Children, Families and Communities needed to tackle
the task of creating an identity, and developing a positive
image to secure the trust and respect of the community, local
officials, and medical professionals. To accomplish these
goals, the LGI team was asked to develop and implement a program
to raise awareness and increase visibility for the Center
and its services.
Working closely with UCLA representatives, the team developed
key messages and a unique graphic identity. We also created
a family of printed materials which reinforced the Center’s
brand image. Materials included a color logo, letterhead,
12-page informational brochure, and a folder. The collateral
materials were designed for maximum efficiency as well as
effectiveness; economically combining inserts with mission
oriented brochures so the inserts could be continuously updated.
The Center’s brochure won a "Pro Award" from
the Publicity Club and "PRism" award from the Public
Relations Society of America. More importantly, the materials
enabled the Center to achieve its goals, including faculty
recruitment and grant awards.
Other LGI academic success stories include the Sloan
Industry Centers Program and the UCLA
Center for Community Health.
